"Alberta is recognized for providing one of the best education systems in the world. Our system is built on a range of educational choices, including public, separate, charter, Francophone and private schools. Our students consistently perform among the best in Canada and around the world. The availability of choice strengthens our education system and supports the right of students and parents to have options that meet the objectives of the School Act. This range of choices continues to bring new ideas and innovative approaches to learning that ultimately benefit all our students.”
- Education Minister Dave Hancock, December 2010.

A Note about the FFCA Wait List

Please be advised that due to the popularity of our program, the wait time for admission is quite long.

Admission to FFCA is based on first-come, first-served.  Parents are encouraged to put their new babies on the wait list for future kindergarten years to ensure admission when it comes time for your child to start school.  Please note that your child must have reached the age of five by September 30 of the year in which they are admitted. Note as well that Alberta Education will not finance two years of Kindergarten; if you choose to put your child in another Kindergarten program, (s)he will have to be placed on the Gr. 1 wait list, where wait times are much longer.

At this time, there are more names on the wait list than we can accommodate for all future Kindergarten programs, up to and including the 2015 classes.  It is highly recommended that you have a back-up plan with another school, as we may not reach your child’s name for admission when it comes time for your child to begin Kindergarten.

Admission to grades one through 12 depends upon openings that become available. The number of openings differs from year to year, and the attrition rate is generally very low.

If you have any questions regarding your child’s position on the wait list, please contact Wanda Olson at wanda.olson@ffca-calgary.com, or by phone at 403-520-3206, ext 160.
