Our names are Ayanna and Nicholas and we are grade four students at FFCA, Southwest Elementary.
We were invited to be part of a club this year, called Makey Makey that met once every week at lunch recess. The club was put on by Mrs.Malsbury and Mrs.Westenberger.
What is Makey Makey? It’s an electronic system that you can code through scratch or explore through their website. In the club we used playdough to play games through the website. We learned about different materials and what is conductive and non-conductive.
An opportunity was presented to create a Makey Makey game for our grade four business unit. Over the next few weeks we began working on an operation type game with the makey makey and coded with scratch. At home, Ayanna began working on a Dance Dance Revolution game also using Makey Makey and Scratch while Nicholas worked on Skeeball and Pinball. All these games where to be part of our business unit. We ran an Amazing Arcade Games Inc. business for our fellow grade fours and parents.
We were so happy when we were invited to Makey Makey Club. This was a positive experience that we will never forget.
