It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Michelle Newell as Associate Principal at the Northwest Elementary School Campus for the 2020-2021 school year.

Michelle joined FFCA in 2008 teaching Math and Science at SMS. She has been teaching Science and Chemistry at the High School Campus since 2016. She has served as the Science Department Coordinator, and this year returned to coaching volleyball. Michelle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Acadia University. She is currently completing her Master’s in Secondary Science Education and Curriculum from the University of Alberta.

Michelle shares the following thought on taking on this new role: “I have enjoyed teaching at SMS and HSC for the past 10 years and am excited to join FFCA’s leadership team.  I look forward to working with Mrs. Drummond, the staff, and families of NWE.”

We are extremely pleased that Michelle has accepted this new challenge.

Jim joined FFCA in 2005 teaching at SMS. He has been teaching Humanities at the High School Campus for the last 11 years. He had helped lead and implement various programs such as inclusion, critical thinking, ICT, AISI and coaching. Jim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Nipissing University. Jim shares the following thought on taking on this new role: “I am excited for the opportunity to work again at the North Middle School campus and to serve there as the Associate Principal next year. I am eager to learn from John Deines and all of the fabulous staff there as I continue on my learning journey. I would also like to thank all of my colleagues at the high school and other campuses who have helped me to grow and continue to learn. I am indebted to you more than you know; thank you all for your continued support. I look forward to working with you all in this new capacity.”

We are extremely pleased that Jim has accepted this new challenge.
