It is with great pleasure that I announce the hiring of FFCA’s next Superintendent and CEO, Kurtis Leinweber, effective April 1, 2024.
Kurtis began his career with FFCA 27 years ago as our first grade 8 teacher and physical education specialist. Since that time, he has served in virtually every conceivable role throughout the organization, including Associate Principal and Principal Educator, and has spent the past seven years as Deputy Superintendent and Chief Operating Officer.
Kurtis’ leadership has helped guide FFCA through its entire journey from a small charter school serving a couple hundred K-8 students, through the establishment of one of the top high schools in Alberta, to what has now grown to become the highest demand program of choice in the province serving over 3,700 students across eight campuses. For additional context, FFCA now employs more staff than we had students when Kurtis began his career. Simply put, his institutional knowledge of our school is unparalleled and he brings a deep understanding of the culture that has made FFCA so unique, and so successful.
Kurtis has proven himself to be a trusted leader across the organization and has built immense credibility with the Board of Directors over his time as Deputy Superintendent. When the Board was advised we would need to find a successor to Dr. Roger Nippard, we were united in endorsing Kurtis as the fifth Superintendent in FFCA’s history, and we are grateful and excited that he has accepted this challenge.
