On February 7th from 3:30-5:30pm the first ever FFCA Basketball Showcase occurred at FFCA High School. It was two hours of fun and intense basketball involving the Gr 7/8 Boys basketball team from NMS, the Jr and Sr Boys basketball teams at the high school and a few brave staff members. The boys were divided up into teams of 3-4, with a member of each team on them. The staff also put a team of “Legends” together and they all participated in a 3-on-3 tournament. The bonds and community built within our basketball community were tangible. Who won and lost is not important, although the staff held their own, but the boys connected and made memories that will last until next year when the 2nd Annual FFCA Basketball Showcase occurs. Next year we are hoping to have SMS participate and for a 2nd event to be organized for our girls’ teams.
