Our Board

The Board of Directors of Foundations for the Future Charter Academy is a GOVERNANCE Board.

Governance can be defined as the exercise of authority, direction, and control of an organization in order to ensure that its purpose is achieved and proper accounting is given for results.

Successful governance is as much attitude as it is action, though both are essential. Success depends on the right mix of Board skills, chemistry, and personal motivation. It depends on a common commitment to a cause – the organization's mission, vision and shared beliefs. It depends on a high degree of trust and teamwork within the Board, and between the Board and management.

BOARD COMPOSITION:

The Society will have a volunteer Board of Directors, as defined in ARTICLE 3.2 of its Bylaws, which will consist only of Full Members or Associate Members.  A Director who is an Associate Member of the Society will have full voting privileges on the Board of Directors.

The Board will consist of a maximum of nine (9) elected people, of whom three (3) may be Associate Members and none of whom may be spouses, adult interdependent partners or parents of any staff members. Directors will not be permitted to serve concurrently on the Board of Directors and any FFCA School Council.  Only one parent/legal guardian per family may serve as a Director at any one time.
