Campus Councils

What are Campus Councils?

In Alberta, school councils are required as an advisory body comprised of parents, administrators, teachers, secondary students, and community representatives. Because FFCA is one school with multiple campuses, we refer to each campus' council as a campus council. The campus councils provide the campus communities with a means to participate in decisions that impact student learning success. For information regarding a specific campus council, go to the campus webpage then click on the Parent Partnership menu option.

What is the ASC?

The Association of School Councils (ASC) is an association established through an agreement of the campus councils to support their work and foster a sense of community. It does so by providing:

  • a forum for the sharing of activities, exchanging of ideas, and the discussion of common key issues identified by the FFCA Campus Councils,
  • a 'Resource Center' for campus councils by providing access to collected documentation that may assist them in their day-to-day operations, and
  • management of the Community Fund, including scholarships
