Bus Information

Bus Registration Forms must be submitted with fee payment by the preceding June 16th to be considered for routes for the following school year.
We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students will be added to an existing stop with available space when approved by Transportation.
Processing times could be up to six weeks due to volume. Parents are responsible for transporting their student to/from school during this processing time.

Please go to the FFCA Parent Portal (https://ffca.powerschool.com/public) and complete the Bus Registration form under School Fees and Forms > Enrollment.

  • Kindergarten and Grade 1 parents/guardians, please see the document below "A Message from the Transportation Department" for important bus information.
  • Parents/guardians are not to approach the driver with any concerns. Please see the Transportation Handbook below for contact details, depending on the situation.

Bus Delays

There may be delays in bus service due to weather conditions, mechanical problems or traffic congestion. The MyBusStop App (Southland) will be updated when the bus is running late or has been cancelled. You will need to sign up ANNUALLY in September. Occasionally, the delays can be lengthy so please have a back-up plan and discuss it with your child/ren regularly. Instructions to sign up are below.

SOUTHLAND GPS TRACKING APP

Each September, the campuses will post a school code on Edsby in order to allow you to sign up for Southland's bus tracking app. MyBusStop will provide you with real-time school bus location and reporting. Our transportation provider’s weather policy dictates that service will be cancelled at ambient temperatures of –35 degrees Celsius or with a wind chill of 90 kms or more making the temperature –35 or higher.

Please be advised that we do not provide transportation to some newer, outlying, or select older communities. The list linked to below includes communities currently not serviced; however, it is not exhaustive. Click here for a list of Communities Currently Not Serviced.

Bus Release Form: Kindergarten and Grade 1

For parents/guardians of students in Kindergarten or Grade one. Please fill out the form in the PowerSchool portal / Rycor if you want to allow your child to disembark with an older sibling or a person other than a parent.

Moving? 

If your family is moving to a home that is outside the boundary of your student's current campus, your student may remain at that campus, but you will be responsible for transportation to and from school. Bussing is not available outside the designated campus boundaries. If you require transportation, you will need to apply for an internal transfer to the campus designated for your new address. Apply by March 1 to have the best chance of being considered for the following school year. The transfer request applications are processed through the Online Waitlist system. Internal transfer Requests will precede most waitlist students (including priority status and siblings). If the requested campus is unable to accommodate your student, the current campus will hold a seat to ensure the registration is guaranteed.  Please note:

  • transfers do not occur mid-year
  • transfers can only occur if a seat becomes available in the requested campus (possible wait of 5+ years)
  • we may not be able to accommodate all students in the same family in the same year
